Look Who's One!

It's hard to believe that Zane is already one. This year has flown by and has had many different ups, downs, and flips....kind of like a roller coaster. Honestly, it wast he best ride of our lives! :)

What started out as a skinny little man who would not sleep for more than about 40 minutes at a time all night long has turned into a filled out cutie pie who will give us about 12 hours of sleep at night. He was born at 7 lbs 8 oz and was about 21 3/4 inches long. Now he weighs in at about 25 pounds and is over 30 inches long. He has seven teeth, and we believe he is working on the eighth. His personality is so fun and pleasant, but he will definitely make it known when he is not happy. We feel so blessed to have such a fun little man! What a great gift God has given to us! Happy Birthday, Zane David!!
Mommy and Daddy love you very, very, very, much!

Lake Michigan

We had a good time the past two days visiting Joe's brother at his lake house in Michigan. It was our first overnight with Zane. I was very nervous about how he would sleep, especially with a broken pack and play, but I must say he slept better than I did!!
We visited Lake Michigan in Benton Harbor in the morning. It was such a beautiful morning. Zane loved the sand and loved the water. It didn't scare him a bit as it came rushing up around him. He wasn't keen on keeping his hat on though, so luckily the sun wasn't too strong. Here are some pics from our short visit at the beach.

He really liked the let the sand run through his fingers.
The waves didn't even bother him, though he did like the noise they made. :)
Here comes a wave!
SPLASH!

The wet sand was fun to squish!

Oh, another wave? No big deal.

Mama, May I......Eat This??

While Joe and I sat on the swing, Zane had fun crawling around the front yard today and trying to eat things. We would tell him no, and he would hold it up to show us as if to say, "But it's just a....." These are a few of the moments I was able to catch on camera.

"No, Zane. Don't eat that."
"But Mama, see, it's just a stick."

"No, Zane. Don't eat that."
"But Mama, see, it's just the leaf of a weed I picked."

"No, Zane. Don't eat that."
"But Mama, see, it's just a dead leaf."

"No Zane, Don't eat that."
"But Mama, see, it's just a whole bunch of dead leaves."

How can we say no to this sweet face???

Peas, Please!

Zane has really been interested in feeding himself lately, so today I let him have at it with the peas. I should have given him a spoon, but we had the fork out for his fruit. (He won't pick up slimey fruit.) He had fun trying both ends of the fork and actually achieved getting some in his mouth! :)

Fun with Friends!

After having Zane, I started to attend a group at Dupont Hospital. Through this group, I met some wonderful mommies who have wonderful babies. I was so thankful that Zane and I were included in the group as we started having playdates. It is so rewarding to see our children grow, and I am so appreciative of the other women I can talk to about being a first time mom. We had a good time at a Fort Wayne Park last week.
It was so fun to see all the baby swings full and in motion!

Zane LOVES to swing! It is so cute how his hair flies up now.

Yes, my child is playing with icky gum!

Aren't the gentlemen so cute?

Sometimes we have playdates at a Mommy's house. Today we had a pool party. This is my favorite pic of Zane from today. He is growing to be more and more of a toddler and less of a baby every day!

Fun "Toys"

Zane is officially at the stage where the fun toys are the toys that aren't really toys at all! :) So here he is playing with the roll of wrapping paper I bought to be used as a possible table cover for his birthday. It apparently is fun to slide back and forth across the floor.

And.....Here is he playing with tubs I bought to use at his birthday party for candy and such. Since they are metal, they are apparently great to bang against a tile floor. It's just another typical day of fun at the "T" house. :)
